WhatsApp Bans Over 23 Lakh Accounts in India in October, 'Proactively' Barred 8.1 Lakh Users

WhatsApp on Wednesday stated that it had banned over 23 lakh users in India in October. The company's monthly report, issued in compliance with the IT Rules, revealed that it banned 8.1 lakh users "proactively", which means they were blocked before WhatsApp users reported them.
