Aadhaar Details to Be Collected for Electoral Registration in Chandigarh, Says Election Commission

The Election Commission will collect Aadhaar details of voters’ in Chandrigarh, after the latest amendments in election rules that will be implemented in August. The amendments to the Representation of the People Act, 1950 and the Representation of the People Act, 1951 were made by the Ministry of Law and Justice as part of the Election Laws (Amendment) Act 2021.
